Philosophie und des mittelalterl. Islams, am Ende auch der mittelalterl. christl. Philosophie; ab 1967 lehrte er am "Department of Philosophy" der State Univ. of New York, Buffalo, griech. Philosophie und forschte zur islam. Philosophie/Ethik
