678 |b Allison Deutermann is an Assistant Professor of English specializing in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century literature and culture, with an emphasis on theater and gender studies. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her Ph.D. from Columbia University. Currently, she is completing a book on hearing, taste, and genre formation in early modern English drama. She is also co-editing a volume of essays entitled Formal Matters (Manchester University Press). Prof. Deutermann’s essays have appeared in edited collections and academic journals, including Shakespeare Quarterly. At Baruch, she teaches English 2100, 2800, and 3010 as well as courses on Shakespeare, Renaissance literature, and the history of the body.
