Institutionelle Entstehung und Entwicklung werden sichtbar gemacht an der Institutionalisierung von Ethnizität in den USA, der Entstehung des Parteisystems in Polen, von Bewegungsparteien in Italien sowie an der Entwicklung der Europäischen Union 2. Institutioneller Verfall und Abbau werden an der Ent-Institutionalisierung des staatlichen Gewaltmonopols und dem Verfall der italienischen Parteien behandelt 3.
