In conclusion, an argument is presented for a specific kind of spirituality that is needed in order to undertake ethnographic-style participatory observation for liturgical research on African soil, namely a spirituality of liminality. For a researcher who is not a member of the tradition and culture in which the research is being conducted, this spirituality of liminality is necessary in order to develop an emic perspective without defining the people whose worshipping tradition is being researched as ‘other’. This spirituality of liminality is an important characteristic for a researcher who engages in qualitative ethnographic-style liturgical research in a postcolonial context. | ||
| 520 | |a In diesem Artikel reflektiert der Autor kritisch auf seine Erfahrung von qualitativer liturgischer Forschung in Gemeinden in Südafrika. Nach einer kurzen Beschreibung des Kontextes und einer Einführung der Vorgehensweise werden drei Beispiele vorgestellt und kritisch betrachtet. Der Autor kommt zu dem Schluss, dass eine besondere Art von Spiritualität notwendig ist für ethnographische teilnehmende Beobachtung für liturgische Forschung in Afrika, nämlich eine Spiritualität der Liminalität. Dies ist notwendig für Forscher, die nicht der beforschten Tradition und Kultur angehören, um eine emische Perspektive erlangen, ohne die Teilnehmer der beforschten Gottesdiensttradition als ‚Andere‘ zu definieren. Diese Spiritualität der Liminalität ist ein wichtiges Merkmal von Forschern bei der Durchführung von qualitativer, ethnographischer Liturgieforschung in postkolonialen Kontexten. | ||
