Résumé:The article discusses aspects of the children of the enslaved, those who are engaged in the work of freedom, human dignity and justice, in the U.S. in the 20th century. Topics include the irony of President Barack Obama's inauguration, which occurs on the same day of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.'s commemoration, conversion to Christianity as one of the primary justifications for slavery, and the disbanding of the Bluestone Church in Lunenburg County, Virginia.
