My conclusion is that the cosmology presented in Damascene is the result of combining elements of Platonic, Aristotelian and Stoic teachings, with the Aristotelian elements tending to prevail. The idea of that Ptolemaic cosmology has an influence on the cosmology of John Damascene is rejected. | ||
