La chaîne de transmission (isnâd) des hadiths n'est plus seulement perçue comme la garante de l'authenticité de la parole prophétique, elle porte également la trace de la présence du Prophète qui chemine à travers les générations de transmetteurs. De ce fait, elle peut être perçue comme une relique transmise avec ferveur. Cette nouvelle dimension de l'isnâd est à relier avec l'émergence progressive, vers la fin du ive/xe siècle, d'une part du modèle prophétique comme source fondamentale de la voie spirituelle et d'autre part de la formalisation du rôle et du statut du maître spirituel dans l'éducation des disciples. L'enseignement du Prophète, collecté sous forme de sentences selon les normes des traditionalistes, reçoit un statut similaire à celui du hadith. | ||
| 520 | |a At the beginning of the 5th/11th century, the attachment of numerous Sufis to gathering, transmission and exegesis of the hadith already represents a form of devotion to the Prophet's person. The chain of transmitters (isnâd) in the hadith is not merely perceived as a guarantee of the authenticity of the prophetic word, but it also carries the trace of the prophetic presence, which travels through generations of transmitters and can therefore be understood as a relic passed on devoutly. In the late 4th/10th century, this new dimension of isnâd is linked with the gradual emergence, on the one hand, of the prophetic model as fundamental source of the spiritual path and on the other of the role and status of the spiritual master in the training of disciples. The Prophet's teaching, collected as sentences with the traditionalists' standards, receives a similar status to that of the hadith. | ||

A principios de los siglos V/ XI, el apego de numerosos sufís a la recolección, la transmisión y la exégesis del hadith representa ya una forma de devoción a la persona del Profeta. La cadena de transmisión (isnâd) de los hadiths no es ya percibida solamente como la garante de la autenticidad de la palabra profética: porta la huella de su presencia que se abre camino a través de las generaciones de transmisores y que por esto puede ser percibida como una reliquia, transmitida con fervor. Es necesario ligar esta nueva definición del isnâd con la emergencia progresiva, hacia fines de los siglos IV/ X, de una parte del modelo profético como fuente fundamental de la vía espiritual y por otro lado de la formalización del rol y del estatuto del maestro espiritual en la educación de los discípulos. Su enseñanza, recogida bajo la forma de sentencias según las normas de los tradicionalistas, recibe un estatuto similar al del hadith. | ||
