Summary: | This paper describes a teaching unit on dietary rules in a sixth grade primary school class in the canton of Zurich. The teaching unit emphasizes the consequent and field related orientation toward competency and social forms of learning. After some professional considerations on the topic, the planning and didactic material used are introduced. In this unit, the pupils compile by means of texts and internet resources dietary rules of religious communities as well as of vegans. They deepen their knowledge with photo cards and role play. The competency gained is verified through collage and role play. No text-based control of the gained competencies is undertaken. Instead, practical competency is aimed at. The paper ends with an account of the pupil's evaluation and a reflection by the teacher. |
