In Deuteronomy, "life" is associated with existence in the land and physical wholeness. In contrast to Deuteronomy, "life" in Matthew is not associated with either the land or physical wholeness, but rather found by following Jesus. Therefore, having a physical disability is no hindrance to entering life. If a person can enter the life of the Age to Come with a disability, then the presence of a disability is no indication of God's disfavor. Many Christians need to reconsider their negative views of disability and life, because disability is compatible with life. | ||
