À travers l'étude du matériel typographique connu et du catalogue des publications, l'article essaie de mieux mettre en lumière le rôle de relais qu'a joué Sabon entre l'activité finissante d'Étienne Dolet et les débuts remarquables de l'atelier de Jean de Tournes. | ||
| 520 | |a Sulpice Sabon, Clément Marot and the Enseigne du Rocher (Luon, 1542-1544) This article recounts the discovery in an Italian library of an unknown edition of the second book of Ovid's Metamorphosis, translated by Clement Marot, published by Sulpice Sabon at the Enseigne du Rocher. Previously, no printed edition of this translation was known outside of the complete works of the poet. This will lead us to reconsider the career of Sulpice Sabon and the mysterious Enseigne du Rocher, a group that printed several important literary texts in French during the 1540s. Through an analysis of the typographic material and of the catalogue of the publications, this article aims to provide new insights into the transitional role played by Sabon between the last years of Étienne Dolet's workshop and the noteworthy beginnings of Jean de Tournes. | ||
