Entre le déni de la violence d'origine religieuse et la désignation du fait religieux comme une pathologie sociale, la réflexion théologique offre une perspective plus réaliste. Pour le montrer, l'article prend appui sur une contribution récente de la Commission théologique internationale qui interprète le lien entre violence et religion à la lumière de la vérité christologique de Dieu, comme une marque de la corruption de l'expérience religieuse dont aucune tradition ne peut se dire protégée., Some believe that religions are intrinsically violent, while others believe that there is no direct link between violence and religions. But these two radically-opposed perspectives share an inability to envision religious traditions as a resource in the struggle against acts of violence committed in their name. Facing both the denial of religious violence and the designation of religion as a social pathology, theological reflection offers a more realistic perspective. To demonstrate this, we will draw upon a recent contribution by the International Theological Commission which interprets the link between violence and religion in light of the Christological truth of God as a sign of the corruption of religious experience from which no tradition can claim to be protected. | ||
