Si toutes les institutions ont tendance à protéger leur image, ce n'est pas auprès d'elles qu'une aide sera d'abord attendue. D'où l'importance d'une dénonciation à la justice, voire aux médias. Quant aux responsables institutionnels, il est nécessaire qu'ils suspendent les auteurs des abus, et signalent au procureur des faits suffisamment avérés. Ils doivent aussi reconnaître les victimes, exercer à leur égard une écoute bienveillante et manifester la volonté de changer en profondeur les comportements., In this interview, the founder of La Parole libérée, a physician and himself a victim, discusses the importance and the difficulty that victims face in speaking freely to their families, friends, and trustworthy confidants in order to escape a devastating solitude. As long as all institutions tend to seek to protect their image, one cannot expect them to be the first to come to the help of victims ; hence the importance of making complaints to the legal system and even to the media. It is also necessary for those in institutional leadership to suspend the perpetrators of abuse and to report well-founded allegations to the public prosecutor. They must also recognise the victims, listening to them with sympathy and showing a willingness to profoundly change their attitudes. |
