| Summary: | Cosmological arguments for the existence of God defend God as a necessary being against (among others) the alternative that the universe came from nothing. “Nothing” is an ambiguous term, but when clarified it can be argued that a strong sense of the term is self-contradictory and thus impossible. This article discusses the arguments Lorenz B. Puntel has put forth in favour of this conclusion. The arguments herein rely on Puntel’s understanding of theoretical frameworks in explanations, which is also discussed. This article finds that there are good arguments against the possibility of nothing in a strong sense of the term, ending by considering this argument’s relevance to cosmological arguments for the existence of God. Kosmologische Argumente für die Existenz Gottes verteidigen Gott als ein notwendiges Wesen gegenüber (unter anderem) der Alternative, dass das Universum aus dem Nichts entstanden ist. „Nichts“ ist ein mehrdeutiger Begriff. Wird er jedoch erklärt, kann argumentiert werden, dass eine starke Deutung des Begriffes selbstwidersprüchlich und daher unmöglich ist. Dieser Artikel diskutiert die Argumente, die Lorenz B. Puntel zu diesem Fazit beigetragen hat. Diese Argumente basieren auf Puntels Auffassung des Theorierahmens von Erklärungen, der auch diskutiert wird. Der Artikel stellt heraus, dass es gute Argumente gegen die Möglichkeit des Nichts im starken Verständnis des Begriffes gibt und endet mit einer Betrachtung der Relevanz dieses Argumentes für kosmologische Argumente der Existenz Gottes. |
