À un niveau plus abstrait, cependant, les deux termes de cette polarité laissent la place à une fiction d'ordre secondaire: celle-ci est axée objectivement, dans l'écriture anonyme de la Bible, sur des questions qui touchent à la gouvernance divine; dans les textes pseudonymes de "Stendhal", elle est axée subjectivement sur des tons fuyants et des figures de voix insaisissables. À la limite, cette distinction pourra aider à comprendre les rapports obscurs entre théologie et littérature - deux modes de pensée négatifs ou apophatiques ancrés dans l'aversion pour le politique. | ||

At a more abstract level, however, both terms of this polarity yield to fictions of a higher order, objectively focused, in the anonymous writing of the Bible, on questions of divine governance; subjectively focused, in the pseudonymous texts of "Stendhal", on elusive figures of narrative voice. Taken further, this difference may help define the obscure relations of theology and literature - two modes of negative or apophatic thinking grounded in an aversion to the political. | ||
