Description
Résumé:What are the relations between Orthodox theology and social science? Can Orthodox theology profit from it? The question may seem easy to answer at first. The Church has always dealt, in one way or another, with social issues. On the other hand, one may note several differences between the Orthodox East and the Latin West in dealing with social issues, especially in modem times. The paper addresses this broad issue by taking into consideration the specific Orthodox case. It explores the ways in which Orthodox theology may start a fruitful dialogue with modern social science and also discusses some caveats that the Orthodox should bear in mind.
