Summary: | Among the multiple dimensions of social relationships which have undergone a radical revision in the postmodern culture there certainly is the "asymmetry" existing between the subjects in the relationship and its management; this revision had to leave a deep mark on the educational sector. This debate has taken on global proportions. This article proposes to update the sociological reflection on the supposed inability to reconcile dialogical practice (unanimously recognized as the most suitable for the education of young people) and the protection of the asymmetric dimension (authoritative) implicit in the educational relationship.
