| Zusammenfassung: | The article analyses the current Islamic revival in Kuwait giving an overview of the different Islamic groups, namely the Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM), the Islamic Popular Alliance (IPA) and the Islamic National Alliance (INA). The regional trends and their influences on Kuwaiti society and politics are also taken into consideration. Furthermore the article seeks to explain how a welfare society like Kuwait and a strong Islamic revival can go hand in hand. Concluding it argues that a proper balance between Islam, development and state building can only be achieved in Kuwait if it will further open up politically and economically. (DÜI-Mjr) |
