Summary: | How can one help people suffering from a lack of inner structuring? May the Church encourage formations which emphasize the need felt by some for being sheltered under ready made identities? Are devoted instructors competent to hold all the roles at the same time? If what is at stake is the building of a differenciated identity, we ought to clarify the question of power and of its limits, and we ought to face the controversial topic of the confusion of roles in the matter of formation. Is it expedient that the Superior of a community be at the same time the spiritual adviser of those under his care? Much is at stake, and it may be safe to distinguish the roles. |
