This jewel will be examined using both rabbinic sources and iconographic evidence. We will suggest hereinafter that a "Jerusalem of Gold/City of Gold" was a crown made of gold whose iconographic origin must be sought for in the repertoire of tiaras known from archaeological-artistic findings or in literary sources in the Palestinian cultural sphere during the Roman and Byzantine periods.
