Description

Non the less the social resources of migrant families enable children as weil as parents to develop trust and confidence which help to face the challenges of acculturation. If migrant families are weil connected with the majority population, integra-tion will succeed. Integration between Catholics with and without migrant background does not only depend on the pastoral practices of mother tongue missions, but also on those of the local - German speaking - parishes. The article offers a nuanced view of the world of mi-grant families and the process of acculturation as a project of the family. Possibilities of the transmission ofvalues in migrant families will be pointed out as weil as principals of a cultur-ally sensitive and intercultural catechesis.
