| Résumé: | Although it was never doubted that Alexandria played a pivotal role in shaping and spreading the cults of Egyptian gods such as Isis and Serapis, only little work has gone into addressing the actual evidence for the so-called Alexandrinian Isis. This contribution aims at identifying primary sources for both the Pharaonic and Hellenistic Isis, including the iconography of Isis in the hellenistic world. It will be argued that the origins of Hellenistic Isis were linked with personal religion in early Alexandria, rather than political interests of the ruling class. Obwohl nie ein Zweifel daran bestand, dass Alexandria eine ausschlaggebende Rolle bei der Ausformung und Verbreitung der Kulte ägyptischer Götter wie Isis und Serapis spielte, ist bislang nur wenig Interesse den eigentlichen Befunden für die sogenannte Alexandrinische Isis entgegen gebracht worden. Dieser Beitrag zielt darauf ab, pharaonische und hellenistische Quellen fruchtbar zu machen, einschließlich der Ikonographie der Isis in der hellenistischen Welt. Dabei wird die These verfolgt, dass die Anfänge der hellenistischen Isis in der persönlichen Religionspraxis im frühen Alexandria zu suchen sind, anstatt sie auf politische Interessen der führenden Schichten zurückzuführen. |
