Der Aufsatz gibt einen allgemeinen Überblick über die Archäologie des antiken Alexandria anhand der literarischen Quellen und der spärlichen materiellen Überreste; Schwerpunkte liegen auf der Bibliothek, dem Pharos und den Grabanlagen, an denen die wechselseitige Beeinflussung von ägyptischer und griechischer Kultur besonders deutlich wird. |
