Description
Summary:In France, Fides et Ratio was variously received. On one hand, it was seen as a work in keeping with the traditional teaching of the Church. On the other, it was interpreted as a more progressive document. Particular attention is here paid to A. de Libera's evaluation, which highlights certain lines of thought developed in the encyclical yet never taken into consideration. In comparison with the most recent French philosophical production, an outline of the function of metaxology is given, considering a twofold link: between phenomenon and foundation and between truth, freedom and love.
