Summary: | The cultural situation of the church in the United Kingdom is useful for framing questions emerging more broadly for the western church and discipleship formation. After briefly considering secularism, the paper considers themes of discipleship. This is accompanied by an argument for schools of discipleship and radical formation. The outworking of this in a particular setting in higher education describes some of the tensions inherent in practicing Christian theology in public and increasingly secular settings. |
