Description
Summary:In the abatement of AIDS to many people the Catholic Church still does not appear to be a part of the solution but rather a part of the problem. The refusal to permit the use of condoms – under certain conditions – in the context of AIDS prevention compromises the credibility of the church’s commitment to fi ght the disease. From a perspective of moral theology though, a strict prohibition of condom use is not cogent. By means of traditional principles other answers can be found. Moreover, an outright prohibition is based on a reductionist theory of action.
