After sketching an overview of the cathedral's history and the establishment of the modern St Olav pilgrimage, analysis of current perceptions and use of the cathedral as a pilgrim church follows. An aim of the article is to elucidate strategic interests in the Church of Norway and touristic interests in the city of Trondheim involved in the pilgrimage development. | ||
