Elles ont ainsi contribué à promouvoir un monachisme maronite proprement féminin, comme elles furent une solution à la transmission des biens d'un fondateur décédé sans héritier mâle direct, révélant à cet égard leur souci de protéger leurs conjoints et leurs biens, notamment des réclamations des gouverneurs de la montagne, et à long terme, les membres de leur famille qui allaient intégrer le clergé. | ||
| 520 | |a In the Maronite tradition as well as in the Tridentine Catholic reform, the family monastic foundations erected during the eighteenth-nineteenth centuries by the Sheikhs Khazen, governors and tax-farmers of the Kesrouan (center of Lebanese mountain) emanate from religious fervor, but also their desire to provide security for members of their families, especially their wives and daughters. They have thus helped to promote Maronite monasticism properly feminine, as they were a solution to the transfer of the property of a deceased founder without a direct male heir, revealing in this respect their concern to protect their spouses and their property (among other claims of the governors of the mountain) and in the long term, the members of their family who were going to join the clergy. | ||
