At the seventh Parliament of the World's Religions in 2018, former students acknowledged his influence. This article emphasizes three contributions that have proven prophetic following increased rates of migration and technological development: (1) Smith's definition of religion as faith and history, or personal piety and cumulative tradition; (2) the interconnectedness of religions; and (3) science or secularism as a religious world view. |
