Summary: | A theologian is proposing a collaboration between sociology and ecclesiology of the same kind as already exists between philosophy and theology. Sociology would elaborate concepts useful in ecclesiology, to the extent that theology was in contact with the latter discipline. Sociology in this view, would pose precise questions to theology, and would draw forth data from the theologian the implications of which he could not refuse to consider. From an example taken from the sociology of G. Gurvitch, the author shows to what extent such a proceeding is capable of being realised successfully. |
