Summary: | Benton Johnson's question, "Do holiness sects socialize in dominant values?" is reexamined. Data from an empirical inquiry designed to help answer this question are discussed. It is argued that the data indicate that certain features, beliefs, and practices of the United Pentecostal Church, the holiness sect from which the informants were selected, do socialize the sect's members in some of the central values of American society. |
