Description
Summary:Transhumanism has always had a unique relationship with religion. Though transhumanism readily defines itself as rationalist, it has nevertheless often given rise to religious interpretations. These interpretations come from transhumanists themselves as well as from sociologists, specialists in the history of religion, philosophers, and even theologians. What are the main approaches utilised in these interpretations? What do these interpretations say about the place of transhumanism in our common horizon? What is involved in these attempts to explain transhumanism in religious terms?
