Se han utilizado dos instrumentos estandarizados para la evaluación empírica de los constructos: la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg (EAR) y el Purpose-In-Life Test (PIL). Dichas pruebas fueron aplicadas a una muestra de 106 universitarios con un rango de edad entre 18 y 26 años. Los resultados encontrados indican que, en cuanto al género, no aparecen diferencias significativas en relación a los niveles de autoestima, como tampoco en el sentido de la vida. En relación a los niveles de autoestima y sentido de la vida se encontró una correlación positiva significativa entre ambos indicadores, siendo la autoestima sana una condición necesaria, aunque no suficiente, para la presencia del sentido vital. | ||

Two standardized instruments for the empirical evaluation of the constructs were applied: the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (EAR) and the Purpose-In-Life Test (PIL). These tests were applied to a sample of 106 university students ranging in age from 18 to 26 years. The results indicate that, in terms of gender, there are no significant differences in relation to the levels of self-esteem, nor in the meaning of life. In relation to the levels of self-esteem and sense of life, a significant positive correlation was found between both indicators, with healthy self-esteem being a necessary but not sufficient condition for the presence of the sense of life. | ||
