Summary: | The article considers the integration of Russian Muslims (including the Muslim elite of the Russian Empire) into the politic life of the country in the first part of the twentieth century. It discusses aspects of Russian Muslim in parliamentary election campaigns, explores the specifics of the involvement of Islamic modernism (Jadidism) in political processes and considers the influence of revolutionary processes on the polarization of Russian Muslims. The article also discusses positive experiences of a peaceful coexistence between different religious confessions in Russia. |
