Ce que nous en savons et ce qui nous a été transmis relève avant tout de l'image mythico-poétique, une idée préformée d'un comportement et d'un état d'esprit propres à l'enthousiasme dionysiaque. Réalité cultuelle d'un rite dansé ou image poétique d'un état d'esprit : dans les sources textuelles comme iconographiques, les deux réalités se confondent. Il s'agira ici d'en dégager les différents principes, afin d'offrir une analyse de la gestuelle ménadique et de sa signification. | ||
| 520 | |a Even today, maenadism is probably one of the most fascinating Greek ritual phenomena. Although numerous literary and iconographical sources are related to this subject, the historical reality of maenadism remains difficult to comprehend. What we know and what was transmitted is a matter for mythical and poetical imagery. It is a preformed idea about a behavior and a state of mind specific to dionysiac enthusiasm. Whether it is a cultual reality of a danced ritual or a poetic imagery of a state of mind, both merge in textual and iconographical sources. It comes here to identify the various principles of maenadism in the aims to offer a study of the maenadic gesture and its significance. | ||
