Games discussed include Wars Across the World: Fornovo about the 1495 Battle of Fornovo between Charles VIII of France and the Holy League, Assassin’s Creed III which features the late 1700s, and Medieval II: Total War which features 17 historical factions. It explores what aspects of history can and cannot be learned through such games in matters including authenticity, historical narrative, and matters of contingency.
