Angesichts von homogenisierenden Engführungen von Interkulturalität knüpft der Beitrag an Konzepte von Transkulturalität und Transdifferenz an. Damit wird einerseits der Vermischung von kulturellen Elementen, andererseits aber auch dem Fortbestehen von Differenten und Abgrenzungen Rechnung getragen. Anhand von Beispielen aus der Praxis muslimischer Asylseelsorge wird aufgezeigt, wie sich interkulturelle Konfliktnarrative auf die Tätigkeit der Seelsorgenden auswirkten und wie diese in Abgrenzung davon eine transkulturelle Brückenfunktion wahrnehmen konnten. In einer Weiterbildung für muslimische Spitalseelsorge ging es um im Zusammenhang mit Krankheit und Tod wirksame muslimische Sinngebungen, die die Seelsorgenden entschlüsseln können, ohne sie automatisch auf die Seelsorgeempfänger zu projizieren. Abschließend wird aufgezeigt, dass muslimische Seelsorgende in der Lage sein müssen, religiöse Deutungen zurückzustellen, aber gleichzeitig auch ihre Wirkmächtigkeit und ihre konfliktgenerierende Wirkung zu erkennen. Bei allem Bemühen um interkulturelles Verstehen ist auch der Tatsache Rechnung zu tragen, dass muslimische Seelsorge selbst das Produkt einer kulturellen Hybridisierung darstellt. Von daher erweist sie sich prädestiniert dafür, eine inter- und transkulturelle Vermittlungsfunktion wahrzunehmen. | ||
| 520 | |a Muslim chaplaincy constitutes a central space of intercultural experience not least because of the diverse backgrounds of Muslims. In view of the narrowness of the concept of interculturality, this article is based on the notions of transculturality and transdifference. Thus, not only the mixing of cultural elements is taken into account but also the persistence of differences and delimitations. On basis of examples from the practice of Muslim asylum chaplaincy, it is shown how intercultural conflict narratives affected the activities of the chaplains and how, in contrast to these narratives, they were able to apprehend a transcultural bridging function. A further training for Muslim chaplaincy in hospitals dealt with relevant Islamic interpretations in connection with illness and death, which the chaplains can decipher without automatically projecting them onto the spiritual care recipients. Finally, it is shown that Muslim chaplains must be able to put religious interpretations aside, but at the same time recognize their power and conflict-generating effect. In all efforts to achieve intercultural understanding, the fact that Muslim chaplaincy itself is the product of cultural hybridization must also be taken into account. Therefore, it is predestined to fulfil an inter- and transcultural mediation function. | ||
