As representações do yoga na modernidade, evidentes nas capas das revistas e nas redes sociais, são maioritariamente encabeçadas por mulheres de raça branca, flexíveis, da classe média-alta e com instrução superior. Tópicos sobre o feminismo, o corpo na sua relação com o sagrado e as práticas adotadas nos círculos de mulheres, incluindo técnicas de yoga, são referidos neste estudo. Acreditamos que o yoga pode contribuir para o empoderamento feminino, nomeadamente através dos benefícios que as práticas proporcionam ao corpo e mente. As entrevistas realizadas a feministas e praticantes de yoga, do mundo Lusófono, bem como a opinião de várias académicas e feministas do mundo Anglófono, reforçam a ideia do potencial do yoga como importante ferramenta na sustentação do movimento feminista. | ||
| 520 | |a Our study proposes subsidies that evidence the relation of the practices of modern yoga in the integral development of the woman. The representations of yoga in modernity, evident in magazine covers and in social networks, are mostly headed by white, flexible,and middle-upper-class women with higher education. Topics on feminism, the body in its relation to the sacred, and the practices adopted in women's circles, including yoga techniques, are referred to in this study. We believe that yoga can contribute to women's empowerment, particularly through the benefits that practices provide to the body and mind. Interviews with feminists and practitioners of yoga from the Lusophone world, as well as the views of various academics and feminists in the English-speaking world, reinforce the idea of yoga's potential as an important tool in sustaining the feminist movement. | ||
