Description
Résumé:33 tablets belonging to fTulpun-naya, and 4 belonging to her male and female servants, were found in the palace of Nuzi. The study of the persons involved in the transactions will take into account the question of their identity, from several points of view: gender (male and female are involved), social status (poor people are given to the rich fTulpun-naya as security for debts), legal status (fTulpun-naya is the owner of several slaves), ethnicity (Nullu men and women are mentioned), etc. This article is an attempt to examine these different categories, and the way they interfere: each person has several identities, which are more or less significant according to circumstances, and to the relations to others persons of the archive.
