Description
Summary:The Ph.D.-thesis The Sociology of Morals. Catholic Practices and Generational Identities among Filipino Migrants in Copenhagen, Denmark concerns the religious dynamics at stake among female Catholic Filipinos in Denmark, and how the migratory shift between different generations of Filipino migrants fosters a shift in social circumstances among Catholic Filipinos in the country. Trolle investigates how the migratory shift influences the Filipino community in terms of moral connotations, understood as the continuation of authorized values within religious traditions. It is analyzed how this attach to understandings of time and community establishment in a continuous dialogue with being a Catholic Filipino in a secular Protestant, Danish setting and in a continuous dialogue with demographic changes within the Filipino diaspora over the last decenniums.
