Summary: | Recent years have persistently reminded us that the combination of religion and humour seems to be the stuff that conflicts are made of. The topic invariably evokes conflicting positions between freedom of speech versus freedom of religion, which have been the cause of immense political debate, public controversy and thorough research within sociology of religion and the social sciences. This edited collection, however, voices a refreshingly novel approach by expanding the researchers’ gaze to not only include a conflictual perspective, but also the many other ways in which religion and humour intersect and overlap - teasingly, provokingly, and lovingly - in everyday interactions. |
