Summary: | Jesus was a rabbi of extraordinary authoritativeness and a unique being. In the relationship with his disciples, with women and outcasts he showed his independence from social codes, liberty, and pioneering strength. With his teachings and with his life he offered himself as a model for the succession, but, at the same time postulated the exclusiveness of his role as teacher: only he has revealed the true face of God as benevolent and mysterious father, sealing this revelation with his salvific death. In this fruitful tension between uniqueness and model, his open and pedagogically constructive disposition as bearer of wisdom, is a stimulating example for all teachers still today. |
