| 520 | |a In Christian disability theology, the agenda is that all the theological theses including the knowledge of God, Christology, ecclesiology, and eschatology need to be fundamentally reconsidered. Irrespective of whether or not the theologian is disabled, they put themselves in the position of the people with disability, or ask them questions to learn what understanding and impressions they have of theological elements and teachings, and base theology on those very understandings and impressions. In Islam, however, nothing like the Christian disability theology has been developed yet. I consider the development of Christian disability theology as a progressive step and a model to be pursued and achieved in Islamic theology. In this article I first give a short introduction to Christian disability theology. Here I show a distant view of a Christian disability theology. Then I provide an account of the Islamic understanding and impression of disability that includes Qur'an and hadith, Islamic sciences, Islamic government, and Islamic culture and civilization, and critique each in separate sections. | ||
