| Summary: | This study aimed to investigate the relationship between intercultural sensitivity and religious orientation among nurses. This study utilized a cross-sectional model. It was conducted in a public hospital in a city located in the eastern part of Turkey between July and September 2018. The participants were 105 nurses who volunteered to participate in the study. Data were collected using the Socio-Demographic Characteristics Form, the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale, and the Religious Orientation Scale. The Intercultural Sensitivity Scale mean score of the participating nurses was found 82.55 ± 9.82, and the total mean score for the Religious Orientation Scale was 53.34 ± 7.56. A significant, positive relationship was found between the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale and the Religious Orientation Scale mean scores (p < .01). It is recommended that the study should be conducted with the participation of nurses from different cultures and religion, in larger groups and in a comparative manner. |
