Based on the sources, it is possible to assume that Hunab Ku is not a deity of pre-Hispanic origins, but the result of the integration of the Christian god into Maya People's worldview and in their own discursive forms. This article aims to explore and analyze Hunab Ku's attributes mentioned in two written documents: "Song 2" and "Song 3" from Los cantares de Dzitbalché, a sacred book written in the Mayan language during the seventeenth century. | ||
| 520 | |a La historiografía maya da cuenta de una deidad extraordinaria llamada Hunab Ku "Único Dios", quien no tenía representación física y era una expresión de la unicidad frente a una pluralidad de dioses, sin embargo, es posible suponer que no se trata de una deidad de origen prehispánico y que su presencia entre los mayas es el resultado de la integración del dios cristiano en su cosmovisión y en sus propias formas discursivas; por lo anterior, el objetivo de este artículo es conocer y analizar sus atributos en el contexto mismo de los escritos que lo enuncian, en este caso el Cantar 2 y el Cantar 3 de Los cantares de Dzitbalché, considerado un libro sagrado escrito en lengua maya en el siglo xvii. Todo esto desde una perspectiva histórica y con base en las herramientas metodológicas del análisis del discurso, con el fin de entender los elementos del texto en su propia enunciación, y así comprender quién es Hunab Ku y por qué los mayas novohispanos lo conservaron en su universo sagrado. | ||
