Zusammenfassung: | This article reconstructs the continuity of Moses Hess' orientation towards the ideal of the "old, holy nation-state" of the Jews from the beginning of his philosophical and political writings in the 1830s to the time of his Zionist engagement in the 1860s. In particular, it presents a new reading of his writings that also traces his conflict with Marx and Engels in the years from 1845 to 1847 back to this orientation. |
