Although no research explored how beliefs impacted on the experience of chronic pain or how it was expressed, 28 studies met the inclusion criteria. Most studies addressed coping with pain, and most studies focused on Christianity. Understanding how faiths influence the experience and expression of pain could enable health practitioners to communicate more effectively with people from different religions in chronic pain, improving assessment and understanding of treatment preferences. | ||
