Description
Résumé:The article gives background, context and introduction to the journal issue on intellectual disability and behavioural difference, families in South Asia, religion, faith, grief, joy, and the personal journey of parents with a disabled child. Realities of ordinary life in poverty and oppression, and the “religious folklore” with its undercurrent of yearning for social justice, stand in some contrast to the bibliographical supplement of literature on Asian and Middle Eastern disability and religion.
