These oil lamps have already been well defined in terms of typology, iconography, epigraphy, and distribution. A significant lack of excavated workshops has left production studies ambiguous. In this study, moulds for lamp production serve as the primary indictor for identifying the missing lamp workshops. The majority of the relevant moulds have been found at church or monastic sites, suggesting that lamp production during these periods can be connected internally to these religious centers. 
520 |a Cet article présente les données archéologiques les plus récentes sur la production de lampes à huile en terre cuite durant la période byzantine et le début de la période islamique en Terre Sainte. Ces lampes à huile ont déjà été bien définies en termes de typologie, d’iconographie, d’épigraphie et de distribution. Toutefois les études sur la production restent ambiguës en raison de lacunes importantes quant aux sites d’ateliers fouillés. Dans cette étude, les moules pour la fabrication de lampes servent d’indicateur principal pour identifier les ateliers de production manquants. La majorité de ces moules ont été trouvés dans des églises ou des sites monastiques, ce qui suggère que la production de lampes pendant ces périodes pouvait être directement connectée à ces centres religieux.
