| Summary: | La stèle retrouvée à Ördekburnu à la fin du XIXe s., considérée comme indéchiffrable par des générations d’épigraphistes, a enfin livré son contenu. Il s’agit d’une stèle funéraire en araméen sam’alien dédiée à Ḥayyan, roi de Sam’al, qui demande à ses fils et successeurs de raffermir le trône de Sam’al et de présenter des offrandes à ses dieux, Rakib’il et Kubaba, ainsi qu’à sa nbš, à son tombeau pour sa vie de l’au-delà. The stela found at Örderkburnu at the end of the 19th c., considered as undeciphrable by many generations of epigraphists, has just now delivered its contents. It is a funerary stela in Aramaic of Sam’al dedicated to Ḥayyan, king of Sam’al, who asks his sons and successors to strengthen anew the throne of Sam’al and to make offerings to his gods, Rakib’il and Kubaba, and to his nbš at the grave for his afterlife. |
