As duas visões avançam em tradições formidáveis. Fides et Ratio amplia a visãoneotomista de Leão XIII, cuja encíclica de 1879, Aeterni Patris, requeria envolvimento renovado do pensamento de Tomás de Aquino com o mundo moderno. De modo semelhante, a epistemologia reformada se encarrega derevitalizar o calvinismo de Abraham Kuyper, influente clérigo, educador, estadista e reformador social holandês do princípio do século XX. | ||

Similarly, Reformed epistemology carries on the revitalized Calvinism of Abraham Kuyper, an influential Dutch clergyman, educator, statesman, and social reformer around the turn of the twentieth century. | ||
